About Gemma
Mortgage Adviser | FSP No. 1011632
Squirrel Mortgages Ltd | FAP Licence No. 136364
Gemma’s journey at Squirrel began while she was still at university. Over the past five years she’s worked across several roles in the business — from Squirrel Support to Customer Operations in Money, and most recently as an Adviser Assistant supporting Adam Clark.
Along the way she built a strong foundation in lending and the advice process, completing her Level 5 qualifications in under three months. Now a Mortgage Adviser, Gemma enjoys helping people navigate the home loan journey and turn their property goals into reality.
Outside of work you’ll find her playing netball, exploring new hiking trails around Auckland, or spending time at Opito Bay in the Coromandel. She also loves cooking and baking sourdough (her starter is called Eileen). Despite a long-standing love–hate relationship with running, she’s managed to complete two half marathons — go figure.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Business Conjoint with Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Event Management, NZ Certification in Financial Services.
How Gemma is paid
Gemma is a salaried adviser and is paid the same no matter which lender you choose, so there's no pressure or bias toward any particular option. At a company level, Squirrel is paid either upfront or through a combination of upfront and trail commissions by its lenders and insurance providers.
In most cases, her services are completely free, however there may be some occasions where she might need to charge a fee. For more information, please head to our mortgage advice disclosure page.

Very responsive and quick to act. Great advice and made it easy even with some tricky property issues that made lending much more challenging to obtain. I was only able to buy this property because we were the only ones (out of many serious purchasers) that overcame the issues and obtained suitable lending and insurance. Other deals had fallen through because the banks would not lend more than 50% of the property value (ignoring the dwellings).

Adam Clark looks after me really well. I sometimes have a lot of questions as I'm a first time home owner and he's always been patient an able to help and advise and together we have gotten some good outcomes so far. I highly recommend Adam

Ange was great running our numbers and made us feel at ease throughout the whole process. Our process between the first viewing and settling was only 6 week and Ange made everything happen very smoothly in the short timeframe we gave. Her communication was great. We are very happy. The life insurance referral was also a great process for us too.
